Announcements for Feb 11, 2008

Spanish Club is sponsoring a Valentine’s dance this Friday from 8 to 11 p.m. The cost is $5 per student at the door.

 


French Club meets Thursday at 3:45 p.m. in room 204.

 


Beta Club meets in the Lyceum at 7:35 a.m. and 3:35 p.m. Wednesday.

 


Z Club meets in the Lyceum at 7:45 a.m. Thursday.

 


Congratulations to Tiany Rodriguez for placing second in the Literary Criticism at the Glen Rose meet on Saturday. The team of Rodriguez, William Sarradet and Monique Lowe finished third as a team in the same event.

 


Literary Criticism members are reminded that they will compete in Round four of the Texas Shoot-out competition at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday morning in Ms. Kauffman’s room. Currently the team is in third place.

 


STUCO leadership will be holding a raffle for Valentine’s baskets during all lunches tomorrow and Wednesday. The cost is one dollar. Some of the prizes will include a Tony Romo sweatshirt, DVD, luggage, jewelry and much more.

 


The teen library board meets tomorrow during all lunches.

 


Junior pride meets Feb. 11 and Feb. 18.

 

 


Prom tickets go on sale Feb. 18 and will remain on sale until Feb. 29. The cost is $50 per person.

 


Seniors mark your calendar for March 5th for the Hill College Connection. Financial aid information, student activities, admissions, athletics and other information services will be discussed. For further information call 817-641-9887 ext 213.

 


 

The soldiers in Iraq need your help. The schools over there are in need of school supplies. If you with to participate then take the items to the library and place them in the appropriate box. Help make the school experience a good one Iraquian school children.

 


Drivers’ Educations begins Feb. 25. The cost has been reduced to $150 per section. Enrollement is open to the first 50 who register.  Call Ms. Centeno at 817-202-1419 to register.

 


Current events meet every Tuesday morning in room 224A.

 


Skills USA meets every Thursday at 8 a.m. in room 9A.

 


Beginning today, students may order the 2008 yearbook from Mrs. Davis in room 106. The cost is $70.

 

 


SPORTS

 

For the seventh year in a row the swim team will have a group advance to the state meet. The boys finished third at the region meet and the girls finished seventh. The guys relay and the 400 medley teams will advance to the state meet in two weeks. Zach Interrante was name co-swimmer at the meet.  Zach and Joseph Sarradet set new region records in three different events at region. Congratulations everyone.

 


The Lady Jacket Varsity soccer team plays Evermen there tomorrow. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

 


The Varsity boys’ soccer team plays plays Evermen there tomorrow at 5:30 p.m.

 


The Lady Jacket softball teams play Springtown here tomorrow. Game times are 5 p.m. for JV and 7 p.m. for Varsity.

 


Varsity baseball plays Granbury here at 5 p.m. tomorrow.

 


The Freshmen and JV baseball scrimmage Granbury there tomorrow. JV begins at 5 p.m. and freshmen at 6 p.m.

 


The varsity tennis team travels to Brewer High School tomorrow for a 3:30 meet.
