Carter Blood Center will be here next Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the annual STUCO blood drive. This year’s theme is a Pint for a Pint. For each student who donates a pint of blood, STUCO will buy them a pint of ice cream. Sign-up sheets are in Mr. Wall’s room. You must be 17-years-old or older to donate.
In honor or Red Ribbon Week, Stuco has asked that students were crazy socks on Monday to “Sock out Drugs.”
Students interested in taking the driving portion of Drivers’ Education in November need to see Coach Zachary in the history department. You must have your driving permit before taking the driving portion. You will begin driving Nov. 12.
STUCO is taking donations to help with the medical bills of sophomore Brian Hughes. Brian was recently diagnosed with a tumor on his thyroid gland and is need of surgery. Unfortunately, the family must have $10,000 in cash as a guarantee before the surgery and necessary tests can take place. The STUCO goal is one thousand dollars or more. Please look deep into your hearts and give generously.
It’s time to start thinking about decorating a pumpkin for the annual Library Pumpkin Decorating Contest. The pumpkin should be decorated to look like a book author, literary character or famous person. Dress, paint, or accessorize your pumpkin, but please do not cut or carve it so it will last longer. Write a poem about your pumpkins. Bring the pumpkin and the poem or limerick to the library on Thursday, Oct. 25. Judging will be held on Oct. 30.

FCA will meet Monday night at the Oasis. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the meeting beginning at 7 p.m. The Parables of Jesus studies will continue. Please attend even if you have not attended before.
The pep rally theme is color splash. Seniors wear orange, juniors blue, sophomores wear green and freshmen red.

Mark your calendars for the annual College and Career night presented by the Counseling department which will be Nov. 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. All high school students and parents are invited to attend. Financial aid presenters will be on campus that night to discuss aid options.
Exit level TAKS retest for ELA is Oct. 23, Math is Oct. 24, Science is Oct. 25 and Social Studies are Oct. 26.

The freshmen gold and black football teams travel to Stephenville tonight. The gold team plays at 5 p.m. followed by the black team at 6:30 p.m.
