Students if you are parking on the teacher parking lot, then STOP. Beginning yesterday, officers will ticket and or boot your car if you are parked there. Towing of vehicles will take place if you continue to park on the teacher parking lot.
BETA club will meet for the first time this school year on today in the lyceum. Two meetings will take place. For the early people, you will meet between 7:35 and 8 a.m., for those who prefer sleeping in an afternoon meeting will take place from 3:35 to 4 p.m. You must attend one of these meetings.
All students interested in UIL spelling and vocabulary will meet today at 8 a.m. in the library computer lab. Important information and materials will be distributed. For further details see Mrs. Fort in room 214 or Mrs. Williams in room 233 in the English department.
Student ID’s are still being made in the attendance office either before or after school. Mrs. Ortiz will not make ID’s during the school day, so don’t ask.
Are you smart and competitive? Do you like to exhibit that knowledge? If the answer is yes, then plan to be part of the award winning Quiz Bowl team. Practice begins Thursday right after school in Mrs. Kauffman’s room. It’s time to bring home another championship trophy.
Anyone who missed yesterday’s STUCO meeting may pick up an information packet in the Main office or from Mr. Wall in room 221. All forms and money must be turned in to Mr. Wall by Monday if you wish to become a member.
The library computer lab is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 8 until 8:25 if you need to type anything for any class. An English teacher is available for help.
All junior and senior girls wishing to join Exchangettes should pick up an application in the main office. Please fill out the application and return to Mrs. Kelley, Ms. Stacy or Mrs. Smith by September 18.

Senior mug shots for the yearbook will be made again this year at David Bean’s Studio. The deadline to schedule an appointment is December 15. Don’t wait until the last minute to make your appointment because we can’t guarantee you can get them done by the deadline. Get this done in a timely manner. You really don’t want to come back for your 25th class reunion and be the only person without a name tag with your senior picture on it. How will they know who you are?
Seniors, you will have brief meeting in the gym immediately following Friday’s pep rally. You will be asked to choose homecoming king and queen nominees. Bring a pencil to fill out the ballot.
Sports:
The varsity football team plays Gainesville here at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
The junior varsity and the freshmen black football teams travel to Gainesville Thursday. The freshmen begin at 5 p.m. followed by the JV at 6:30 p.m.
JV tennis travels to Crowley for 4 p.m. game Thursday.
Varsity tennis vs. Midlothian here Friday at 3:30 p.m.
The Lady Jacket volleyball teams take on Alvarado here Friday. Varsity and freshmen B begin at 5 p.m. followed by JV and freshmen A at 6:30 p.m.
The Lady Jacket and the Jacket cross country teams participate in the Fort Worth Country Day school meet on Saturday morning.
